  • February - USS Lexington

BSA Troop 177 arrived at Coker United Methodist Church in San Antonio Texas to spend the night after seeing the Texas Ranger Museum in Waco. At the church, we toured the impressive facility, looking at pictures of our host troop, Troop 285, on many different adventures all over the world. The next day, we took a ride to the Texas State Aquarium right next to the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi.

  • January - Trappers Rendezvous

On the January Campout, Troop 177 visited a salt mine in Kansas before going to Trappers Rendezvous.

  • December - Lock In

Every year Troop 177 has a lock-in instead of a camp out in December because of everyone's busy schedules. At the lock-in, we are frantically running through the dark hallways, dodging Nerf bullets trying to find a place to take cover as everyone shoots at each other till everyone runs out of bullets.

  • November - Alabaster Caverns

Alabaster Caverns were huge and full of clusters of bats!  We also went to a 3D archery range where we shot life sized animal targets.

  • September - Hiking Greenleaf

Personally I had a great time on this hiking camp out at Greenleaf State Park.  There were some harder times though, it isn't easy to go up and down hill after hill with a full hiking pack.  It was interesting hiking 12 miles while stopping at rest stops such as a long swinging bridge.

  • Webelos Woods 2011 Update

Webelos Woods is a yearly event in the fall at John Nichols Scout Ranch in Oklahoma where Webelos and their parents can visit different troops from Eagle District. After spending a challenging Friday evening, setting up the tower made of poles and lashings, we go to our stations the next day so visiting Webelos can play Minute To Win It Games.

  • August - Canoeing the Spring River

Our canoeing trip at Blue Hole Canoe Floats in Quapaw, Oklahoma, was quite an experience, from catching frogs and snakes to flipping over a swamped canoe.

  • Summer Camp 2011

At the amazing boy scout summer camp, Cris Dobbins in Colorado, I just finished eating a pizza lunch at the Dining Hall and headed down to the lake with a buddy to work on Small Boat Sailing in the third period. When we get there, it turns out we are early so my three patrol members and I play a game of volley ball in the hot sand until class starts.
